Why Montessori curriculum?

As a physician specializing in both pediatrics and psychiatry, Dr. Montessori recognized that learning is a natural, intrinsic process. In a Montessori classroom, every activity, method, and piece of equipment is designed to tap into a child’s innate desire to learn. Children are empowered to choose their work, whether working independently or collaboratively. They may sit at a table or move freely around the room. The curriculum and the role of the teacher are carefully crafted to respect each child’s individual pace of growth while fostering social cooperation and community.
Each day, children engage in a wide range of activities spanning practical life skills, math, language, science, history, geography, art, writing, and music. Throughout these experiences, both children and adults prioritize kindness, compassion, mutual respect, and peace.
